Best way to contact me is to email me at [email protected] I check it throughout the day. If you have an urgent message to get to me, call the main line 770-578-3266 and leave a message. They are very good about relaying messages. Please do not leave a voice mail on my extension, we'll probably miss getting your message.
My name is Mary Rich. This is my fifth year teaching the Moderate Intellectually Disabled class here at Wheeler. Prior to that, I was a paraprofessional in the same class for four years. Some of my best life experience has been as the mother to a wonderful daughter, Amanda, who has cerebral palsy and an intellectual disability. She is 31 and in a day program. I have another daughter, Emma who is a veterinarian, and a son, Randolph who is at KSU . They all are graduates of Wheeler and had an outstanding experience here. I also have two fur babies- Larry, my adorable terrier mix and latest addition, Ally, a Jack Russell mix.
I have a Bachelor of Business degree from Emory, but evolved into teaching the last few years. I gained my teaching certification through GATAPP and reciently completed my Masters of Science Special Education from Western Governers University. I feel so blessed to be able to do what I do. It is an amazing experience to spend the day with my students.
My favorite things!
My job! I love researching new and fun ways to address my students’ needs.
Season- summer
Activity- anything to do with water activities esp. tubing
Food- Mexican and seafood
Colors- blue and gold
Store- Marshalls/T.J. Max
Best past vacation- Yellowstone
Well, enough about me. I look forward to learning about your child and family!
